Street Light Replacement Work Started!

Street light

On November 10th the Town took official ownership of all of the street light fixtures within the Town from Eversource. Many of the fixtures have burned out bulbs or have wiring issues that have prevented them from working. The Town currently budgets $60,000 to pay the light bills from the street lights. Through the efforts of Building Commissioner James Marot and a grant from Green Communities, we will be switching the fixtures to LED’s over the next two years ( ½ ½ ). The Town has contracted to have the fixtures re-lamped and repaired.

MV Electric commenced work on November 28th. They did 31 heads on the 28th beginning near the southerly most point of Conduit Street and will continue going up Middle Road.

If there is a street light in need of attention, please report it on the website at https://www.acushnet.ma.us/town-administrator/webforms/report-a-streetlight-outage
