Police Department Supports Red Sox "No Shave November!"

Home Base
Home Base

First Responder No Shave NovemberAcushnet Police will participate in Home Base "No Shave November." The Home Base program provides critical mental health and brain injury care to our wounded and injured warriors and their family members. The clinical team at Home Base is located at Massachusetts General Hospital.

The funds raised will be used for research and care for troops who suffer from the invisible wounds of war here at home. The shave off will be held November 30th. There is more information on the Police Department website and Facebook page.

Shave the date: November 1, 2017 is the official start to the Home Base First Responder No-Shave November Campaign. Join MBTA Transit Officer, Purple Heart recipient, and former Home Base patient Kurt Power for a month-long journey to support Home Base and honor his fallen brothers through the No-Shave November campaign. Make your pledge to forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation, raise awareness and break the stigma associated with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and other invisible wounds of war.  If you’ve got that competitive edge, get a group together and start your own team. Thinking maybe you’d rather go solo? Sign up as an individual and start fundraising today. All police, firefighters, corrections officers, EMTs, and paramedics are encouraged to participate.
