Farm to Families Program Ends This Week

The Council on Aging's USDA Farm to Families Program is ending this week, with the final distribution at the COA this Thursday, August 27th.  To date, the program has served 637 families (575 of which are Acushnet residents).  Great work by the COA, their Director Heather Sylvia, and the many staff and volunteers who made this possible, including Gary Melo and Tyler Melo from PACE, Alice Rebelo from Vibra Hospital, Ed Caron, Donna Lake, Geoff Haworth, Eric Chew, and Duncan Merrey from Acushnet EMA, Selectman David Desroches, Maddox Merrey and Sophia Merrey, Patricia Midurski, Jan Fortin, Roger Fortin, and Linda Guilbeault from the Acushnet COA, Jeanne Sheridan from the Acushnet School Department, and the Acushnet Police Department.  Thank you for taking such extraordinary care of our residents and seniors during this stressful time!
