New Hours effective january 4, 2019: Mondays & Wedenesdays 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Tuesdays & Thursdays 1-8 p.m. Fridays 1-5 p.m. & Satu

The staff & Trustees of the Acushnet Public Library are pleased to announce that service hours will be extended
and the Library will be open on Fridays, beginning January 4, 2019.  Acushnet residents and members of the library
community have indicated they would would welcome the addition of Friday hours.  In surveys conducted
during the Library's Strategic Plan process in 2017, the majority of patrons noted they were pleased
with existing hours but Friday hours would allow for greater flexibility and more opportunities for use.  Some
residents noted that they were unable to visit the library on any day but Friday, and, as a result, weren't library users at all.
With the recent addition of a Children's Room Assistant, the library now has the staffing levels to support the increase
in hours, allowing it to be open six days a week.
