Board of Selectmen Waive License Fees for 2021

Town of Acushnet

PRESS RELEASE:

STATEMENT FROM THE ACUSHNET BOARD OF SELECTMEN REGARDING LICENSE FEES IN 2021

DATE: OCTOBER 20, 2020

The Town of Acushnet Board of Selectmen at their October 20, 2020 meeting voted to waive the restaurant license fees in the upcoming year for the following licenses: Common Victualler Licenses, Liquor Licenses, Club Licenses, Restricted Music Licenses, Entertainment Licenses, and Automatic Amusement Licenses.  This decision was made in light of the incredible impact that COVID-19 had on the hospitality industry during 2020.  Where local restaurants were shut down for a significant period of time, the Board of Selectmen wanted to demonstrate some good-will and support by waiving the entire fee for these licenses under their authority, in hopes that this may lighten the economic burden for our town businesses.  Local restaurants must still submit their applications for licenses as usual and the fee will be waived if the application is approved by the Board of Selectmen.

The Board of Selectmen would like to wish all local businesses much success and prosperity in 2021!
