Acushnet Hosted Second Free COVID Testing Clinic 10/14/20

Wednesday, October 14, 2020:

The Town of Acushnet will host a second Covid testing clinic on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 4pm – 7pm.  The clinic will be held at the parking lot between the public schools on Middle Road.  This event is open to all Acushnet residents and is free of charge.

A clinic was held last Saturday with over 150 individuals participating.

“The goal of these clinics is to find those people who do not know they are positive so that they can take the appropriate precautions,” stated Acushnet Fire Chief Kevin Gallagher.  “That is how the spread is slowed.  The results from last week’s clinic proved to us that we achieved this goal.”

Testing clinics are a cooperative effort of the Boards of Selectmen and Health as well as the Emergency Management Agency, Council on Aging, School and Police Departments.

“It is said that it takes a village to raise a child.  We are finding that it takes a community to slow this virus,” said Chief Gallagher.
