Greater Boston Food Bank Program

The Greater Boston Food Bank supports seniors in need by leveraging all available resources, including the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), which is a federal program designed to help low-income seniors access healthy food provided by the USDA.

The Acushnet COA staff can submit CSFP applications to the food bank for processing and approval notice. At the distribution center, volunteers pack 30 lb. boxes with nutritious, senior-focused shelf-stable foods and trucks deliver the packed boxes to sites where they are distributed to clients. These deliveries occur once per month in Acushnet.

A household of one receiving $1,354/month or less or a household of two receiving $1,832/month or less qualify.

For more information or help to complete an application, please contact the Acushnet Council on Aging, 508-998-0280.
