Curbside Collection
All recyclable material will be combined and collected every other week on
Saturday. Recycling days will not change when on a holiday trash schedule.
The following items can be placed in your blue recycling bin:
- Newspapers with inserts
- Phone books
- Office paper
- Magazines and catalogs
- Clear and colored glass bottles/jars
- Aluminum cans
- Tin cans
#1 and #2 plastic containers (Look on the bottom of the bottle or jar for the chasing arrows symbol). #1 and #2 plastics include milk jugs, detergent bottles, 2-liter soda bottles and most shampoo bottles). |

Recycle the paper products on dry days only. No plastic bags
or soiled paper. Junk mail,
corrugated cardboard or paperboard are excepted. No paint or aerosol cans or other metal items.
Recycling Center
Hours:
Wednesday from noon to 3:30 P.M. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m.
to 2:30 p.m.
The Recycling Center will be closed from December 11th to March 8th.

- White goods (refrigerators - remove doors, air conditioners, dryers, ovens, hot water tanks, microwaves)
- Used oil
- Fluorescent bulbs and other mercury-containing items
- Lead acid batteries
- Antifreeze
- Oil filters
- Scrap metal
- Propane tanks
- Yard waste (grass and leaves, branches)

Surplus Paint Program in Fairhaven
Residents can bring reusable paint to Fairhaven's Recycling Center, located at 5 Arsene Street,
Fairhaven. Useable paint can be dropped off in Fairhaven on the 3rd Saturday of each
month from May through October, 9:00 a.m. to noon. Fairhaven accepts: latex paint,
oil-based paint, stains and polyurethanes. The items must meet the following conditions:
- Original labels must be on the cans;
- The cans must be at least 1/2 full;
- The material must be useable; and
- Only pint to one-gallon size is accepted.
Residents can also go to Fairhaven's Recycling Center to pick up paint. Contact the Fairhaven
Board of Health for more information at 508-979-4022.
