Council on Aging

The Acushnet Council on Aging and Senior Center is the town's resource for those age 50+ seeking to increase their mental, social and physical well being.  Located in the old Mason Weldon Burt School Building, the COA offers help with Fuel Assistance, Food Stamps, MassHealth, Medicare/Medicaid, home delivered meals and more.

Looking for a new exercise class? We offer everything from Chair Yoga to Zumba.

Pitch, Cribbage, Line Dancing, Needle Arts and painting are just some of the other activities we offer on a weekly basis.

While the building is not available to rent for private events, we are home to the Acushnet Girl Scouts, Youth Gymnastics, Acushnet Youth Athletic Association and regularly host special events for the Acushnet Police Association.

Council on Aging Mission Statement:

The mission of the Acushnet Council on Aging is to advocate and support the community's older adults, their families, and their caregiver's while promoting independent and positive lifestyles, in a welcoming and secure environment.  We strive to identify the needs, provide information and referral through our outreach services.  By providing educational, recreational and cultural programs and activities, we hope to enhance the quality of life for our seniors.
